WORK SKILLS PROGRAMME

Depending on how many days our students are with us,

and the level of support they require - we tailor our work with them accordingly. 

Typically our skills programme looks as follows:-

3 Year Work Skills Programme: Text

STAGE 1

Retail Skills

*Health and Safety in the workplace. 

*Monitoring and maintaining ease of shopping.    *Keeping stock at required levels.       
*Keeping retail environment clean and tidy.  
*Moving goods and materials manually. 
*Sorting donated goods for resale or recycling. 
*Wrapping and packing goods for customers.​

STAGE 2

Customer Service Skills
*Adapting behaviour to give a

good customer service impression.   
*Using 'customer service' language. 
*Doing the job in a customer friendly way.  
*Maintaining a positive and

customer friendly attitude.     
*Recognising and dealing with

customer requests and problems. 
*Taking details of customer service problems.

Employability Skills
*Understanding how to complete a job search.

*Assessing for a job.

*Preparing a CV.

*Presenting personal information to employers.
*Planning for and learning from a job interview.

*Preparing for and learning

from a work placement.

*Learning how to manage money.

 

"He enjoys his days at RPM, and it is a very important part of his routine.  He loves seeing his friends and socialising.  He is very timid, but he always comes home and talks about his day, and his confidence has improved.  He is learning lots of new skills and he feels safe at RPM and has a good relationship with everyone.  He always has a good time at RPM; he has built friendships, gained skills and it is a great place for him.  He's been on lots of courses and gained lots of knowledge and life skills."
